The Loss.

Not much is new here on the home front. We went up to Birmingham for Super Bowl XLV. We went to BWW in Hoover, AL and had a blast. They had a tail gate in the parking lot behind the store. There was a spot for the a band, and $10 bucks for all you can drink beverages. :) There was supposed to be finger foods, but they never materialized. IDK (I don't know) why.

I took this picture early in the day, so there doesn't look like that many people there, but near kickoff tihs whole area was full. Two seperate news stations came out, and a few radio stations. I HEARD one of them was a KDKA affiliate, but IDK. Don't care as much now that we LOST.

Lance had crazy hair from him hat- as per usual. As with his face paint, I do believe it is a necessity for any serious Steelers game we watch. LOL.

My friend Jenny and (The Other) Laura came out to see Lance, Me and Special K. It was good to see them, even if it was just for a few minutes. I am very VERY thankful for my friends- no matter how close or far away they are I know we can pick up like no time has passed.
I must have done something good in life to have been blessed with all of my wonderful friends.

I will leave you to look through the rest of the pictures. There isn't really much to say about them, but that the Steelers lost and we were verra sad. Sigh.

Frozen Solid.

Last weekend we went up to Pittsburgh for the 3rd time in one month, and for the SECOND Steelers game. This one was the last hurdle for the guys to jump to get into Super Bowl XLV. This was the sight at the gate when we landed in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers vs Jets.

Awesomeness abounded.

We had left our warm weather clothes up there since we knew that we were headed back up there. It was supposed to be a lot colder this game, so I realized we needed some more clothes. So Jackie and I headed to Dick's (Sporting Goods that is) and got a few extra layers and Lance a ski bib.

The day of the game we went tailgating at the same place as before, and it was pretty neat to see the same people again. I have never tailgated or anything like that so it was fun having that experience. We tailgated with Joe- one of Lance's childhood friends.

As you can see from the pictures, I look really fluffy. That is NOT all pregnancy related I PROMISE!

I had so many layers it wasn't even funny. I had sock liners, wool socks x2 and thinsulate lined hiking boots. Hot packs to the bottom of my toes at the start of tailgating...then top toe warmers added when we were getting ready to go to the game.
Bottoms: Silk longjohns, courderoy pants, and lined snow pants
Top: Silk longjohn undershirt, thick turtle neck, my Steeler fan in progress, long sleeved T, polar fleece jacket, polar fleece vest, and THICK sweatshirt with kangaroo pocket with hot packs in it
Hands: Glove liners with hotpacks in them and mittens.

Then windstopper ear/head wrap, a knit hat with windstopper in it, and then a neck gator.

It was SO STINKING COLD! How cold was it you ask? It was so cold that the beer some of the guys there were drinking FROZE when they took off the bottle caps. SO COLD my water ended up freezing. Yeah. That is cold.

I was pretty much okay as far as the temp. I did get a little chilled just b/c how could you not? The only discomfort I really felt was my face and then my fingers in the 3rd/4th quarter when I took of my mittens to take pictures/videos..

The game itself was wonderful. It was awesome to be part of it- 66,662 people all screaming.
We were part of history- largest crowd at Heinz Field, McDonald Fan Cam with largest photographed ever taken, coldest playoff game at Heinz Field...another trip to the Super Bowl.
Sigh.

It was so worth it. We all know the results- and if you don't....STEELERS WON!!!

It is going to be a Steelers v Packers Super Bowl, and we are heading up to B'ham for the fun. :)

Steeler Fans

Steelers, Packers have the most female fans- HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Current mood:happy

;)

Steelers, Packers have the most female fans
The Pittsburgh Steelers have known for years their fan base included countless women _ that was evidenced by all the pink official team jerseys they sell and the hundreds who attend their female training camp each summer. Now the Steelers have proof that, when it comes to building a female fan base, Pittsburgh does it better than any other NFL market.
